Established in Macclesfield, Cheshire, the scotts story began in 1984, with our first store, a big idea, and driven by a passion for sportswear.
      Initially regarded as the place to get sports clothing, the flagship scotts store became the authority in sportswear and footwear. scotts grew alongside the dominant sports brands such as Fila, Lacoste, Fred Perry and adidas (The original), in an era when sportswear was attracting a new audience and was gradually becoming accepted as cool, fashionable menswear that simply oozed style. The likes of tennis legends - Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors to name a few, became global sporting and style icons.
      Originating from away days in Europe, the era of the football casuals was (literally!) alive and kicking, when the terrace dress code changed the rules and influenced a new

generation of sports-mad and fashion conscious young males. scotts became a favourite of this emerging culture who considered the brands they wore as everything and who re-wrote the fashion rulebook, mixing heritage sports brands like Fila, Lacoste, Fred Perry and adidas Originals with more classic tailoring and menswear brands like Emporio Armani and Farah. It was an era when appearance equalled status and you wore your brands as a statement; all you wanted was the latest and the best garments - the terraces frequently showcasing Diadora Borg Elites, adidas Gazelles, Fila Matchday or Fila Terrinda, Farah Vintage Slacks.
      As menswear's evolution progressed so did scotts, eventually concentrating more on quality designer menswear and stocking acclaimed fashion brands like Emporio Armani EA7, Paul & Shark and Original Penguin. What goes around,
